Should I use a VPN for matched betting?

I’ve been receiving a lot of questions lately regarding VPN services for matched betting. If you get into the matched then it is worth knowing about. VPNs are relatively cheap. If you’re getting into matched betting and have already started making a profit, then you should invest in a few tools to protect yourself as with any online business.

I’ve been using a VPN since I started matched betting, I use it every time I go online and transfer money as it provides me with both online privacy and security.

You will be making a hefty profit over the year and transferring money all around the web between bookies to your bank and to the exchange. If you ever do this outside your home network you are vulnerable without a VPN to an interception of your private data over a public network.

What is a VPN?

A VPN is a way of securely and privately connecting to the internet.

This means it routes your internet connection through a private secure network.

Your home wireless router at is your private network. A VPN is the same but provides this security for you when you are outside your house at coffee shops, work, or on any public network.

You can also select which country you want to change your IP address to. This means if you go on holidays or travel outside Australia you can still access the Australian bookmakers from abroad if you simply set your IP address to Australia.

The 3 Reasons I use a VPN for matched betting.

  1. Security - Protecting my bank transactions - It protects all my internet browsing, deposits, withdrawals and logins details. This is very important if you are on public network (Cafe’s, libraries, college, work etc.)
  2. Privacy - Stops bookmakers (and other sites) tracking me - It also stops the bookmakers being able to track you online. This is important as it could prevent you from being promo banned if a bookmaker tracks you visiting exchanges and follows your online betting patterns.
  3. Freedom - Access from everywhere  - With a VPN when I am outside Australia on holiday or traveling I can still access all the betting sites and continue matched betting abroad. It is not possible to access the gambling sites without using an Australian IP.

Premium or Free VPN for Matched Betting?

Not recommend - free VPN as it would be really slow when placing bets and this is not good when you are trying to place a lay bet with liquidity disappearing quickly, also with the speed of the internet in Australia we can’t really afford to slow it down anymore.

The IP addresses you get to use are also being used by so many other free users that they could be blacklisted from some bookmakers.

Recommended - Premium VPNs are much faster and more secure. The benefits are that keeps your browsing private, secure and anonymous without dramatically slowing your internet down. They also have dedicated IP addresses so that you access betting websites from other countries.

What are my choices?

There are an overwhelming amount of choices out there. I only ever recommend what I use myself and something that you can first try yourself for free to see if it is useful to you. After testing most of the big VPNs out there I currently use PureVPN. They have a free trial if you want to test out a VPN service before committing to anything.

You can see what they are all about here instead of me rambling further. They have a free 7-day trial you can try out and see if it is for you. I also got onto them about a promotion discount. It’s only $2.95 a month for match bettors using this site and link 🙂

      Hi Greg,

There is no need to add on the dedicated IP, I have a list of them. Just send me a message once you get set up.
